Mia Darling, ND

 

Dr. Darling received her undergraduate degree from Brown University, studied graduate biochemistry at Tufts Medical School in Boston, and received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine where she was awarded valedictorian of her graduating class. 

Dr. Darling began in research, studying Lyme Disease in the Molecular Rheumatology Department at New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. She then continued in the field of research at John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California where she developed a real time PCR assay to detect tumor genes circulating in the blood of cancer patients. Her publications include Profiling epigenetic inactivation of tumor suppressor genes in tumors and plasma from cutaneous melanoma patients(Oncogene 2004) and Epigenetic inactivation of RAS association domain family protein 1 (RASSF1A) in malignant cutaneous melanoma(Cancer Research 2003).

Dr. Darling was the co-founder of Focus for Life Naturopathic Medical Centerin Scottsdale Arizona, and served as an adjunct faculty member at Arizona State University where she taught holistic medicine at a graduate level.
